Nov. 28, 2010: Blake's 5th B-day!

We went with the pirate theme. Lots of fun ideas! We didn't do Blake's idea of real sword fighting at the party tho.

Pretzel hooking pirate game. We had a great turn out for the party! Everyone came! About 17 kids (counting siblings. ) It was a bit crazy, especially the pinata in the living room part, but no one really lost an eye, so I call it a success.

Blake got Hot Wheels, a Paper Jamz guitar and games. Real butterflies from Gpa Radford. All kinds of fun stuff. Blake was sooooo excited for his party. He is our party kid. Thanks for keeping life fun, Blake!

We made pirate hats and eye patches. Emma was our only girl, and she got into the crafts for me:)

Thanksgiving 2010

This year we got the Labrums at our house for Thanksgiving! So much fun. The boys went hunting a couple days. We started this Turkey day tablecloth with all our hands on it. The cooking seemed to go fast too, with Mel helping!

We got dumped on with snow this weekend too! Snow forts in the front yard- yeah!

Mmmm... why is it all over so fast and I'm so full??

Fun in the Fall

Bryce's backyard find!

Blake goes to preschool at Ms. Lisa's this year. She's great! They're on a field trip to the Lee Metcalf bird refuge here. Happens to be a class full of boys! She has her hands full.

The kids built a tree house with Meghan in the lead. They had so much fun for hours every day up there. Even Buster was helping:)

Silverwood!

Trey and Hunter loved this ride that drops you from several stories up. Our stomachs dropped just watching them!

Havin fun with the Humphreys! We swapped taking big kids and little kids. It was pretty cool this day. We didn't last long in the water park.

I did not go on this one. What is it that changes when you're an adult that would not work out so well to spin round and round at high speeds and highths? But Trey and Meghan did.

Hiawatha bike trail

This bike trail is all down hill, 17 miles and on the way home from Silverwood in Idaho, so we combined the 2 events. We've done it before and loved it, but this year was definitely more challenging. The weather was rainy, rainy, rainy and cold... But we paid for the shuttle and hoped for the best. We ended up putting extra socks on kids hands that were freezing. (9 kids between us and the Humphreys.) We didn't come ready for winter weather exactly. (It was the end of August afterall.) But sometimes common sense to turn back isn't our strong point:) But we did make some memories!

Just keep on smilin' everyone! Keep ridin' or we'll miss our shuttle to the top and have to ride back up in the cold!! (We are crazy, I'm sure of it!)

Bryce's new bike was kinda tricky for him, actually. And he decided he does not like dark tunnels (which we had to go through several) or high trellis bridges (like the one they're on). But he made it! First time on his own bike! 17 miles! (And swore he'd never do it again!) Yeah for his coach/cheerleader Dad!!

Aug. 27, 2010: Brycie's SEVEN!

Bryce got a new bike for his birthday. He's awesome at riding it. He still loves Legos above all else in life. He's so sweet most of the time. Best buddy is Blake. He's such a genuine and good kid. He's already reading and very excited for first grade. For his birthday we took a trip to the Silverwood theme park in Cordelaine, Id. and did the Hiawatha bike trail. (which ended up not to be Bryce's favorite thing ever.) We love ya Bryce! Stay sweet!

Sept. 2010: Overnight horse ride

We (Steph and Dori) rode into the Skalkaho/ Bob Marshall wilderness to help the guys (Terran and Jeff) pack in some stuff early for their hunting camp this year. This was a first for me as far as horse rides go. About 25 miles of riding in 2 days. Some of it was very steep trail. I kept thinking of one of my favorite movies, "The Man From Snowy River" and trying to be brave. They put me on an awesome horse, "Pal" who is the best ever and didn't let me die. Definitely a fun adventure!
